Here is the original fan. |
I wanted a smaller, more dainty look, so I
trimmed 2 fans by cutting the tulips off.
(Save the tulips; who knows what
else they could be used for?) |
I then glued lace along the fan's upper
edge. Since the reverse of the fan is white, I glued a second
fan to the back, covering the white and giving a neat two-sided
finish.
A gold pen was used to cover
any white edges. |
Pulled bunka neatly finishes the area where
the bottom of the lace is glued to the fan's upper edge.
Using a needle, I punched a small hole in the handle and attached
a small thread tassel in the same color as the bunka. |
